New look on the homepage, cleaned up the music section a bit. Also updated the Events page with a cleaner look and an interactive Google map to the party.

Release Party update
Still waiting on word from the club to confirm the date. I have agreed to paying their sound guy to run the boards, and I asked about lights and fog machines.
You just can't have lights without fog machines.

First Post & Release Party
Today is March 5 2008 and I am posting for the first time on this blog.
There have been rumors about a CD Release Party for a few months now. Quite possibly at the end of this month, The Simian Rebellion will be playing live at the Air Conditioned Supper Club in Venice, CA. A very nice club with a funny name. Yes, it is really air conditioned.
The booking girl is excited about the show. That's a good sign. We agreed on a Sunday, from 7 PM until about 9 PM. Exact Sunday is unknown for now. The plan is to have my friend DJ VooDoo Doll spin for a bit to warm up the crowd. Then I appear on stage while the lights do some dramatic shit, and start to address the crowd with a vocoder. Then a bassline, some high hat, and BAM! The next hour will be a trip out of this world.
I've gone back and forth about what gear I will be performing with, but I've been practicing with the following:
MacBook Pro (10.4, Ableton Live, FM8, Absynth, etc.)
MicroKorg (keyboard
Korg RMKII (drum machine)
Edirol PCR-800 (keyboard)
Samson 6 track mixer
I might wear a funny hat, and I might wear a scarf for my Dr. Who bit. Visit The Simian Rebellion main site if you would like more info. Hope to see you there.
